New Clothes

New Clothes

One
tree bare.
The other
considering
giving up its skirts
to the greedy wind as
it teases and snatches at
the green and gold gown, tattered and
worn, ready for retirement as
new garments hibernate, wait for spring sun.

It is a crime that some piece of clothing should be put away for a season, especially a dress like the one in your poem!!

I like it, interesting use of the form. Shaped like a tree. Cool

It
was really
Nice and I like
it a lot. So I thought
I'd stop by and water your tree.

Thanks everyone so much. Yes, I'm hooked on the form. It's just so much fun. I need to start a collection of them. Rhian, jealous, with your talent? Not. But you make me feel good about my attempts. Thank you.

Thanks, Roscoe, for watering the poor tree. That will help her have an even lovlier dress next year.

LOL Roscoe! I too love your use of form. See how excited a bunch of poets can get over incorporating visual design into word painting? LOL!

I especially love:
'The other
considering
giving up its skirts
to the greedy wind'
